Vocations App Launched

Fr. Patrick Rushe, launched an iPhone App for Diocesan Vocations to Priesthood at the Nathional Conference for Diocesan Vocation Directors, in Naas, Co. Kildare.  The app was designed by Fr. Patrick, and developed by a company called Magic Time Apps, who are based in Dublin.

This is a new and novel approach for the current and future generations of those seeking to find information, and investigate more about the subject of Vocations to Diocesan Priesthood in Ireland.


  Some of the highlights of the App are;
1. Connection to Twitter and Facebook (social networking at the service of Vocations)
2. Novelty 'test' for Vocation & celibacy potential
3. Contact details and statistics for every diocese in ireland
4. Comprehensive set of commonly asked questions which would help someone to discern a vocation
5. News Feed running from the National Vocations website to see the latest items of interest.

Updates in the future will include a 'prayer counter' which will allow people to pledge a period of prayer for Vocations; and a picture gallery - including some images from the daily life of a seminarian.

Donal McKeown, the chair of the Vocations Commission of the Bishops Conference launched the App on Monday 17th October.
